My greatest passion has always been to be creative, starting way back when I was a very little girl. So back in 2001, when I relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, my son-in-law gave me a bar of handmade soap as a welcoming gift and from then on I was immediately hooked. Since then I have been making my own cold-processed soaps and developing my own handmade body care products, experimenting and being thrilled with each brand new fragrance formula. Except for hair coloring and make-up (sorry, can't help myself), I have not since used any chemically processed skin or hair care product.

Purity in nature . . . is a concept that is the foundation of why I started Micky Byrd in 2006. Using body and skincare products made with natural and organic ingredients helps reduce the consumption of chemical usage on our skin and is thus far more purer and healthier for our bodies.

We operate as an eco-friendly, cruelty free and socially conscious company. Recycled materials are used whenever possible for packaging and we strive to purchase ingredients from companies who partner with Fair Trade suppliers throughout the world.

To provide people with a healthier alternative when purchasing body care products. To provide our customers with handmade cold-processed soaps and body care products made with 100% pure vegetable oils, organic botanicals, high grade fragrance and pure essential oils. To make products with ingredients that have high moisturizing and skin nourishing components. We will not use ingredients that show potential for becoming endangered by human consumption. Our products are free from harsh detergents and chemicals, artificial coloring and are paraben-free. We do use a paraben-free preservative only in our soufflés and sugar scrubs to keep our products fresh and free from nasty bacteria.

Natural: To use ingredients derived from plants and minerals as close to original form as is feasible and effective. We do not use petroleum products, hazardous chemicals, artificial colors or parabens in any of our products.

Organic: To use herbs and vegetable oils that are produced using methods of production that care for a healthy, fertile soil and using environmentally acceptable production techniques. Organic farming prohibits the use of artificial chemical fertilizers and contamination from pesticides.

Green: Our company will practice a moral code of ethics to conduct business with goals of sustainability to our ecology, society and to give back to our community. We practice safer preservation systems and we use recycled materials for packaging. No testing on animals in the production of our products or from our suppliers.

Fair Trade: To conduct our business with suppliers who are committed to fair trade practices which includes worker safety and fair treatment to their workers by improving the lives of workers and their families. To give workers a decent fair price for their harvests in order for them to achieve a decent standard of living.

No Testing on Animals: We have a strong policy here that we will only test our products on living creatures who can brush their own teeth with toothpaste.

Another major goal of Micky Byrd is to give back in support of women striving to make a better life for themselves and their families by donating a percentage of our profits to foundations that support women in need. When you purchase our products, you are contributing to making this goal happen and we thank you for your support.

We also will give donations to the Breast Cancer Foundation and to the ALS Foundation (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
